Nickserv mail not working :S

when i go to register using ns it says mailed out val code but nothing comes ...i have all the options enabled in the conf file and i left the sendmailpath untouched as i had no idea what that was refering to it didnt look like win32... can someone tell me what im supposed to do? get a mailserver for it to use or is anope supposed to be able to send mail itself without help...
bare with me as im pretty new to this

im guessing your running Anope on Windows? for which case u need to use the anopesmtp.exe applet

put that into the option in the conf file? or just run it? btw where is the starting address ? the anope directory or the data folder?

set the path below on your services.conf:

SendMailPath "anopesmtp 127.0.0.1"

and remember to replace the IP's with your SMTP ip's. 127.0.0.1 works fine for me on my localhost computer.
