Preventing /stats p etc by users
« on: May 12, 2007, 02:31:17 AM »

It been a while I looked here I recall Katslaw did a post about restricting access to stats list and for the life of me I  cannot find the post. Does anyone know the work around or the link to that post please.

Thanks

It would help if you told us what IRCd you were running.

I guess it is IRCD thing, m not sure you can do with Services :)
If you use UnrealIRCD, you can make change on oper-only-stats setting:
Quote

   /* This allows you to make certain stats oper only, use * for all stats,
    * leave it out to allow users to see all stats. Type '/stats' for a full list.
    * Some admins might want to remove the 'kGs' to allow normal users to list
    * klines, glines and shuns.
    */
   oper-only-stats "okfGsMRUEelLCXzdD";

Thanks for your response GhosT, I wasn't too sure if it a ircd or services side of things,  but will look more into it now that I know where to look for.

This reply wasn't called for at all. EvilSeph's question was perfectly valid. You never said which IRCd and GhosT's solution will only work on 1 ircd and that's Unreal. It will not work on the other 12 or so IRCd's that Anope supports.

Even though it did likely answer your question, Unreal is NOT the only IRCd in the world, let's not assume that everyone uses it.
