when a nick is registered, is there a way to have the email line automatically hidden instead of users having to "/ns set hide email on"

NSDefHideEmail which is enabled by default.

thanks but I  (seemed the obvious thing to do) tried commenting that out, didnt seem to do anything.

Thatonly effects nicks registered AFTER you set it.

you don't want to comment it out .. NSDefHideEmail makes it so set hide email is on automaticly. Setting it now doesn't affect nicks already registered, it only affects future registrations. Currently registered nicks will have to set hide email on manually.
