MySQL Deliuma (Installation & Connection)
« on: January 14, 2007, 07:40:53 PM »

Hello,

So far I've run into quite a few errors attempting to install but have just run into a brick wall.

I have downloaded the compiled version of the latest 1.7 release and followed the installation for Windows instructions. It is so far working fine but when I got to the stage asking if I would like to use MySQL I selected Yes and it says it cannot find any version of MySQL.

This is odd since I have both the MySQL off MySQL's website installed along with Visual Studio 2005's MySQL.

In addition I recall setting a password for MySQL but no username when I installed it. How do I know what the username is along with the socket and path information? The host is localhost.

Thank you very much for any help you can offer! If you need any further information please post and I will reply immediatly.

Where is MySQL installed? Did you download the full package, and select the development files in the MySQL installer? (headers and libraries)

Okay I did what you implied and it worked, Anope found the installation instance and it went to say everything was succesfull. It then said type "name -f Makefile.win32" which I did and it returned "'nmake is not a recognized internal or external command....'"

Any ideas?

You need a copy of nmake.exe, which should be included in Platform SDK, or any copy of Visual Studio.

I have both of them installed, how would I access them?

You should load the Visual C++ command prompt that is provided, as all the needed paths are set there.

I found one in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Platform SDK for Windows Server 2003 R2\Bin

Try the platform sdk command prompt, or failing that, type:

set path=%path%;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Platform SDK for Windows Server 2003 R2\Bin

Okay I tried many different things. I couldn't find a Platform SDK command prompt so I used the VS 2005 one and changed the directory to the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Platform SDK... I tried it and it said "Makefile.win32 not found"

I'm running out of ideas

Where do I type that in? I tried it in the VS command prompt and it just returned a new line

Which means it worked, and you can type the nmake command again.

There's something wrong with your installation basically. The visual c++ prompt should set all these paths up for you.

I'd try uninstalling and re-installing Visual C++ 2005 Express.

Assuming that that doesn't fix it is there any way to circumvent this compiling process?

I installed the exe version of Anope but everytime I try to open it it says there is something wrong with my config file

I tried the Visual Studio 2005 (Not C++) Command prompt and it's compiling, I think.

If you look at the top of the forum where it says "[NOTE] Anope 1.7.18 on Windows", you'll see how to get the pre-compiled .exe files working.

Is there any documentation avaiable on how to hook Anope up with Unreal3.2.6?
