This is annpying

M_CHANSTATS: no database connection to

The database, username and password is set in modules.example.conf and it works when the main services boots up

in modules.examples.conf ? I'm surprized if it works, you'd better fill modules.conf.
Did you correctly fill chanstats.conf ? Is your database really working (have you records in it) ?
