Memo Mail
« on: November 18, 2008, 04:41:00 PM »

Hi,

How about adding MemoServ feature for sending email to user when they get memo.
And /ms set memoemail on|off option for those who wants it, and don't wants it :]

Bye

I thinks thats not that bad Idea.
But I'd restrict that E-Mail only to be sent once per "no-login". I mean: whether or not the nick gets more than one memo after his logout the information-mail for a new memo only gets sent one time. This avoids "spam". And one mail should be enough to motivate the receipient to look into his irc-account, so then he sees "you got x memos"...

This is already a feature, but is not documented.

/ms set notify mail

This will email you all memos you get. As for building on the feature, please let us know.

Thanks to Rob for being the documentation on this :P

Not a problem. As I said it's not documented anywhere so few people know about it. I'll bring it up though and see if we can't get it in the help files :P

Oh nice!

Well, can someone exlain how it works? If enabled, does it also send a mail although the user is logged in or does it only work if the user is offline?
How does it handle nicknames in a group? EG: user1 is offline. user2 is grouped to user1 and online. another user sends a memo to user1. If my first question gets answered like "only logged off users get mail" then what happens in this case? :D

greets.

[edit] Well, I found out it also sends the mail although you are logged in. So it seems the "group"-thingy doesn't matter.
Is it possible to enable that by default?

Not documented means not documented in the help system. However disabling it just means setting one of the OTHER options.
