New service "PictureServ"
« on: October 18, 2012, 04:28:34 PM »

Hello! Just want Sorry for my text, because I used a translator Google, I am from Russia.
There is a request to create a new service "PictureServ" with the right set of commands to it. The service will be used to save images in the root folder Anope.
Example command to save the picture in the personal store:

/Msg PictureServ mypicture http://static.ddmcdn.com/gif/how-to-solve-cat-behavior-problems-2.jpg

- Self-service download the direct link the picture, if it really exists and stores the user's personal store by nick, on condition that his nickname is registered.

Next, it should be possible to transfer and leave the message in the form of a picture.
Example command to send pictures to the user:

/Msg PictureServ nick picture http://static.ddmcdn.com/gif/how-to-solve-cat-behavior-problems-2.jpg

- Self-service download this image to the private storage of said team member Nick.

Next, it should be possible postback user picture to view it.
Propose to accomplish this by using DCC and existing teams.
If a user who is sending an image is online, he immediately sent this picture, it is proposed to download and open. Opening will be realized through scripting client individually.
In any case, I think an interesting idea to keep your pictures and share them with other users in offline =)

So should be the team to ignore by nick users that do not want to receive images, and other useful commands for this service.

This service PictureServ can be extremely useful and important to establish, by way of individual customer contacts and display photos of users to create personal profiles for dating chat.

Authors suggest Anope think about this idea, it can greatly increase the possibility of the IRC chat, and add the popularity of your program.

A stock, out-of-the-box Eggdrop bot can already do this very thing even without any scripts.

The purpose of U:Lined services is to perform actions that a regular client cannot do and the more mundane tasks that are performed by services, the greater the chance there is for poor performance.

bots can only part obsluzhitva channels, while services will service the entire IRC network as a whole.

having anope store random stuff clients send to it on a server that isn't meant to store stuff, but to run stuff, is the surest way of having your server hacked imo...

personally, not interested at all in writing something like this..

Not true, an Eggdrop bot can serve as an in house file server with proper configuration. Now users do need to be known by the bot to us the built in file system, but this can be semi automated. The Eggdrop doesn't need to sit in all channels to allow users access to it. It needs to be in a channel to act as a channel bot. The file system and it's built in notes system as well as it's DCC abilities are globally accessible.

IMHO, that's a very small price to pay compared to having your entire services lagged and/or hacked.
