Anope 1.7.23b, SERIOUS problem.
« on: October 11, 2008, 06:26:33 PM »

I don't use serious problem lightly.

But here's what's going on.

On irc.draog.ath.cx, my server shell account, Anope 1.7.23b was installed and I attempted to get Anope to respond to anything but /MSG. Everything's set correctly, everything's included correctly.

Everything's as it should be. I've set this up so many times, yet NickServ, OperServ, ChanServ, etc. will not respond to anything but a /MSG.

This was after switching from SurrealServices.

As far as I know, everything's set up correctly. All the aliases are set correctly.

All the aliases block are correct as they should be.

And there's an include line for anope.conf

This was confirmed by two others who have also set up Anope many times before.

So, I'm mystified as to why all the 'Servs will not respond to anything but /MSGs.

Help, please?

No fault found, /NS and /NICKSERV work.

Aliases are strictly ircd side and have nothing to do with services directly.

/msg is a server command so is /chanserv. the /chanserv command only points to services. it is not apart of or controlled by services.

moving to appropriate forum.

Ohh, so that's who I saw connecting on my network a while ago. >_>

That'd be because we switched to SurrealServices for the time being. Let me shut SurrealServices down.

I'll let you know when Anope Services is back up.

Can you TRIPLE check that services-server in unrealircd.conf is EXACTLY "services.draog.ath.cx" with NO capitals please?

Everything's correct as it should be.

http://calintz.sdf-eu.org/unrealircd.conf

Please visit this link. This is the server's config.

We know it works with SurrealServices.

Just not why it won't work with Anope at all.

Ok, the error was fixed.

And apparently the nickserv and chanserv information that works in 1.7.22 doesn't work in 1.7.23b?

nothing major changed between .22 and .23b in regard to this...
the fact that it doesn't work is 100% on your end: there s an  obvious error in your config:
Quote
services-server          "services.draog.ath.cxt";
whereas your linkblock says it should be
Quote
link services.draog.ath.cx {

Viper has pointed out the obvious mistake which is precisely why it won't be working.

Frankly I'm surprised you didn't notice it when you make such a big deal out of blaming anope.
