Seeking for A Module
« on: September 24, 2006, 11:57:34 AM »

hey all ,,
I joined many networks,, and i have seen something special..
for its services,, they included a module which verify that ur email is right then it sends a message to your email to confirm it by a code,,and so if u someday forget ur password ,, u can get it by one command u type and u get a new password in ur email.
am not sure if its the same with cs_emailonregister.c or not!

Thanks,

It might help if you have a read through http://forum.anope.org/viewthread.php?tid=820 which i believe is the feature you're after. Where by on registering a nick it sends an email to the address specified containing a command to type to confirm the email address before the nick is fully registered. So unless you have a valid email address you cant recieve the CONFIRM code and so cannot complete registration of your nick.

yeah it worked
,, it said
-NickServ- A passcode has been sent to eawedat@maktoob.com, please type /msg NickServ confirm <passcode> to complete registration

but when i checked my email nothing arrived,, even in junk/spam box.
is there configuration to set an smtp server with email , username and password to be sure that it sends to inbox?

i think it did not work because it sends from Windows and not from Linux
and Windows does not support the SendMail option. so i believe there is something to be done,, like configuration or smtp server or something,, so please help..

For windows you need to set the SendMailPath to "anopesmtp YOURSMTPSERVERIPHERE" otherwise it wont work.

You need to specify the SMTP server your ISP gave you or install an SMTP server program on your computer. Your ISP may have alternativly called it your outgoing email server instead of an SMTP server but they are the same thing.
