I think it would be a good idea to extend the anoperc script to include an ARGS parameter so that runtime switches can be specified as such:

./anoperc start -logchan

Yes.. that's good idea ;) because by default, logchan is not enable, is it?

as an update, I found that start allows optional switches, but restart doesn't so this have been filed as a bug report.
