Post by: coxy on March 27, 2007, 06:47:33 PM
wanna request a module.....
this module doesn't allow any color code in nick/channel password.... (setting password with color codes)

example:

Code: [Select]
/msg nickserv set password [Ctrl+k][Ctrl+k][Ctrl+k][Ctrl+k][Ctrl+k]

this kind of password is difficult to use cmd /ns getpass nick

Code: [Select]
-NickServ- Password for nick1 is .

thanks you much

how exactly does colourized passwords make the GETPASS command harder?

Personally I think colourized passwords are more secure because it adds eve more to guess or crack. Afaik, applications like BruteForce don't take colour into consideration so using colour would likely fool it.

Also on clients like mIRC where you have to hold down the ctrl key while copying to capture the ctrl codes makes it harder to accidently reveal your password either in a logfile or a copy and paste to the wrong channel.

You set them a new password and tell them that? you should never have to getpass an existing password.
