ircd_oper problem
« on: July 20, 2006, 12:26:58 AM »

I'm using anope with unreal.

I have this module to make things easier for my irc ops (modified to auto-oper them when they identify).

I'm a net-admin via this module, and via an o:line in the ircd's config.

When I get auto-opered by the module, I cannot access some commands (for example /shun) if I type /oper NAME PASS after being opered by the module, I still can't access /shun.

If I remove myself from the auto-oper list, and just oper using /oper NAME PASS, I can use shun.

All the usermodes etc are set the same by the module as they are by the /oper command, so I can't see why it wouldn't work, but for whatever reason it doesn't.

Any ideas?

It sounds like a poorly coded modification. The best person to help you with this issue is the person that did the modifying.

Id suspect some of the oper-flags are not the same, the umodes may well be, but the background operflags might be diffrent ?

Just a simple question. What IRCd are you using. Because if you are not using UnrealIRCd this module wont be able to send the Oper flags, only the modes.
