Since today early i was runing services version 1.7.10 .. and i wasn't even going to bother .. but today finally i had some problems .. my channels getting dropped and nickserv droping nicknames and so on .. so i UPgrated to 1.7.17 and everything seems fine .. but i get this warning
WARNING: You are currently running Anope as the root superuser. Anope does not
require root privileges to run, and it is discouraged that you run Anope
as the root superuser.
what should i change so this warning goes away.. and how should i change it ..
thxn in advance

dont run the program as root....just run it as a user :)
-
but thats where i have my unreal lol .. i am not gonna reinstall now everything just for anope .. unless i must
-
Unreal shouldnt be run as root either. Also Anope doesnt need to run as root to connect to Unreal if Unreal is run as root.
But seriously id strongly advise reinstalling all as a normal user. And also you dont need to redo your configurations since you can just back those up and restore them in the new locations.

thnx for your reply guys .. since i must reinstall them as user .. how can i do that than? i am not really sure how to do ..pls guide methrugh to make this changes

There are no changes from installing as root and installing as a user. We've taken the time to include installation instructions in the docs directory. All we ask is you take the time to read them.
