Title: Create ns_buddy
Post by: cirinho on February 04, 2012, 05:08:33 PM
The /NickServ BUDDY provides commands to manage your buddy list.
The available subcomands are:
/NickServ BUDDY ADD nick
/NickServ BUDDY DEL nick
/NickServ BUDDY LIST
Please note that adding a buddy will only be completed
after the request has been accepted.

While not accepted, is outstanding! (Pending)

Need users
/ns buddy accept nick
/ns buddy reject nick

I used this function in svs taps and it was very interesting and important for my IRC network

and what exactly does this do, what's the benefit of being a "buddy"? is it just some pointless metadata?

The only use I would get from a services controlled buddy list would be to allow an option with Memoserv to only accept memo's from buddies. (And Services Staff). Other then that, why make services do what almost any modern client can do?

A list of friends would be a good idea to irc integration with web.

Can be created groups of friends "University", "School", "Friends," if not set groups of friends they were in a group "IRC Friends" even when the user had registered some group.

With this list could be possible that a particular channel was only possible to enter that users friends list FOUNDER, send memo to all nicks in a group of friends.

That's something I was looking for. Since we can have a social network based on a IRC network database.
