Title: [REQUEST] Prevent Channel Registration/Ownership
Post by: Adam Walker on May 03, 2011, 09:28:03 AM
Hey,

If there any logical way to create a module to prevent certain users/groups from creating or getting an owner rank with Anope?

e.g. /cs prevent <NICKNAME> <REASON>
then send a global, "OPER has set a prevention on NICKNAME for REASON"

if the user tries to create a channel:
-ChanServ- You are forbidden from creating channels for: REASON

if someone tries to give the user ownership/founder via anope:
-ChanServ- NICKNAME is forbidden from channel ownership.

and a command to remove it as an example: /cs allow <NICKNAME>
then send a global,  "OPER has lifted the prevention on NICKNAME"

Something along those lines would be useful for one of the networks I am an IRC Operator for, so any help would be appreciated!

not something that should ever be added to the anope core imho..
maybe you can find a 3rd party module author willing to do it, but seems kinda pointless imo..
