I was thinking when anope is restarting or maybe shutting down.. Instead of The botserv bots in various channels just "Netsplitting" They should part the channel first with reason such as :Restarting or :Shutting down. Perhaps maybe not on Shutdown, just an idea, but especially on restart parting and the bots then joining back i think looks cleaner and better than just seeing them netsplit.. I've had users say "services failed" or asked me what i broke, and i said guys... its just a restart to update anope, I know it can send globals out when restarting or shutting down but sometimes users dont see those, and come on , parting is sexier :P

I like the idea and want to see it in future anope releases. :-)

Just because it's Cronus - No!
Nah, sounds cool. It'd avoid having NNS parse them which gets annoying if you find a repetative crash bug. :X
Yes to parting psuedo clients from channels before SQUIT is sent.

It's certainly neater so yes, I like it too; something we should implement in 1.9.x
-
Alright, Glad you guys like the idea too :)

how about instead of parting, quit them, would be easier to code, and save bandwidth on larger networks as only 1 quit msg is sent from the hub to each user in a channel they are in, not 1 message per user per channel.
also should quit all p-clients, nickserv etc as well.
-
Ah quit that would definitely work too, didn't think of that :) still like parting :P but good idea

Thats a good idea (sending QUITs), it will be in 1.9.3.
