I want to have a module for HostServ which you can set colors on vhost. There is already something like this working?
-
I'm pretty certain this can't be done with a module at present.
-
Most IRCd's don't support colors in the hosts anyway, I know unreal doesn't support color.
-
the most IRCD support color in vHost, only unreal dont!
-
Other then inspircd, I can't really name an ircd that does.. bahamut, charybdis, Plexus, Ultimate and I don't think solidircd supports it either.. if an ircd strictly follows rfc, it wouldn't allow it.
-
hybrid supports it...I've seen it on Rizon on occasion.
Edit: old post bump...yay...
-
I fail to see the need to bump when it's most likely not going to happen. First, it's a direct violation of RFC1459 because colors is not covered in the host naming protocol that IRC and thousands of other applications use. secondly, it's more work than it's worth. Third, it's only for vanity and serves no useful purpose, thus called "bloat".

They say UnrealIRCd does not support color vhost, but sadly that's a lie! I modified it and it worked, they just do not pass where you have to change. Same anope, look in anope own you can find! When you find let me know :)
-
keywords there, they don't "support" it, you "modified" it, now if your server breaks and you go crying for help, having modified it, they'll tell you where to go, same applies to anope, as far as the stable branch goes.

very persistent today, this same topic is also on searchirc.
we get it, you want colored vHosts. Your turn to get it .. no one will help you.
