akill help needed
« on: September 10, 2011, 06:30:33 AM »

Hi,

What would cause akills to fail to stick? i.e. a 24 hour akill is added on a host name. the akill appears on /os akill list, looks fine. The user immediately returns with the same host name and the system does not process the akill, thereby allowing the user to remain on IRC.

I can't replicate this on my test-net. If the initial kill is being performed the ulines seem ok, is the akill still in the list afterwards? Have the permissions on the databases, specifically oper.db been messed with?
You could try /os set debug on   and check the logfile for any errors :)

since the akill is in /os akill list it should be enforced. If the user is immediately returning with an active akill in the list I'd lean more towards the ircd not setting the gline.

Lets have a look at your U:Lines, they must match the ServerName from services.conf and be on all servers. U:Lines are CaSe SeNsItIvE. If you find the U:Lines are wrong, then after you correct them you need to restart Anope.
