drop command
« on: June 07, 2006, 08:06:21 AM »

in services if you write "/ns drop" your nickname has dropped.

i think it is bad.

i want the command to change "/ns drop password" for every nickname.

only admins can use "/ns drop nick" without a pass.

how can i add the password at the end of the command.

thank you.

you can only drop it when your identified anyway so they would need the password to do that so this would be quite a pointless module to make and have

According to the documentation the only nicks you can drop are nicks within your own nick group to which you must have identified in first and ONLY services admins can drop any nick.

To be honest i cant see any reason why you would want to prevent users from dropping their own nicks anyway.

you must identify to the nick you want to drop if you are not a services admin, therefore the drop command is already password protected.

If you are a services admin, there is no need to have the password to drop other users nicks. Not to mention that to drop others nicks you must be opered and identified to nickserv as a services administrator. Therefore the drop command is already password protected.

Thus it's pointless to require yet another password to drop a nick.

If you are in a position where you have the sort of power services admins have you should be double checking every command you type before pressing enter anyway so as not to make a mistake.
