access list glitch ??
« on: February 06, 2006, 10:02:43 PM »

I'm running Unreal3.2.3 with Anope-1.7.13 and noticed something strange when viewing the access list for a channel. What happens is when I add the registered nick "johny", the notice text of list members becomes truncated at 19 users and the remaining users are shown in regular text. When I delete the nick "johny" from the access list, the full list returns... or if I add another nick to the list after "johny", the full list returns as well.

Below is a paste of what I'm seeing:

LAST LINES FROM ACCESS LIST REQUEST:

[06:45] -ChanServ- 17 10 HawK
-
[06:45] -ChanServ- 18 3 essa
-
[06:45] -ChanServ- 19 3 Iron_Maiden
-
starhserv.net hanServ!services@starhserv.net NOTICE rook1 20 3 magic_al
-
starhserv.net hanServ!services@starhserv.net NOTICE rook1 21 3 addicted^2^chaos
-
starhserv.net hanServ!services@starhserv.net NOTICE rook1 22 3 KGB
-
starhserv.net hanServ!services@starhserv.net NOTICE rook1 23 3 ^hAmZ_|tHe|_gReAt^
-
starhserv.net hanServ!services@starhserv.net NOTICE rook1 24 3 DraculA
-
starhserv.net hanServ!services@starhserv.net NOTICE rook1 25 3 BESTGUYINTOWN
-
starhserv.net hanServ!services@starhserv.net NOTICE rook1 26 3 johny
-
starhserv.net hanServ!services@starhserv.net NOTICE rook1 End of access list.

ADD OF ADDITIONAL USER TO ACCESS LIST:

[06:45] -ChanServ- Destiny added to #lobby access list at level 3.

LAST LINES FROM ACCESS LIST REQUEST AFTER USER ADD:

[06:45] -ChanServ- 17 10 HawK
-
[06:45] -ChanServ- 18 3 essa
-
[06:45] -ChanServ- 19 3 Iron_Maiden
-
[06:45] -ChanServ- 20 3 magic_al
-
[06:45] -ChanServ- 21 3 addicted^2^chaos
-
[06:45] -ChanServ- 22 3 KGB
-
[06:45] -ChanServ- 23 3 ^hAmZ_|tHe|_gReAt^
-
[06:45] -ChanServ- 24 3 DraculA
-
[06:45] -ChanServ- 25 3 BESTGUYINTOWN
-
[06:45] -ChanServ- 26 3 johny
-
[06:45] -ChanServ- 27 3 Destiny
-
[06:45] -ChanServ- End of access list.

I duplicated this test many times to confirm that it repeats. Any ideas what's going on here?

Thanks.

*gives SkaterStuff a gold star*

----------

Now looking at the code there is no difference between how it handles notices at all for the access list function.  At first glance I would say client issue since Anope is sending with notice_lang() each time

It has NOTHING to do with Anope, or Unreal.. its his client that is doing some sort of flood protection

Then why does it only happen when I add the nick "johny" to the access list?  Any other nicks don't impede the access list notice text response, only "johny" does.  I can add as many other nicks as I want and it functions normally producing the full access list in notice text.  What could it be about the nick "johny" that the response stumbles on?
