Hello, it seems i'm having trouble staring services up.

[Jun 07 22:51:17 2006] Every UserKey must be different. It's for YOUR safety! Remember that!
[Jun 07 22:51:17 2006] Loading IRCD Protocol Module: [ultimate3]
[Jun 07 22:51:17 2006] status: [11][hÛ^M^H~HÓ^M^H]

???

UltimateIRCd 3 and Anope don't link ? or what... ?

What can be done?

Thanks

Change your Userkeys in the services.conf file.

[Jun 07 23:17:34 2006] status: [11][hÛJ^H~HÓJ^H]

it seems the problem is ... IRCD [ultimate3] module ... error

status: [11] is an error i'm sure, because
  • is ok.

but [hÛJ^H~HÓJ^H] i can't figure...

11 is an IO error i think... check the permissions on the databases...

hmmm yes it seems i'm having quite a few permission problems, since services and UltimateIRCd were installed in /root
/root/services
/root/UltimateIRCd

what do you suggest doing about this?
already tried chmod 755 services, chown alpha /root/services/services

hmmmmm and since i can't run it as root, what do you suggest ?

running things like this is not at all recommended. i know anope will give you a warning if it detects it s being run a root (you prolly didn't get to this phase in startup yet) and it might even kill itself, not sure about the latter one though.
root is for administering a system, not for daily use :)
