Title: Server already exists
Post by: asylum on June 07, 2007, 04:30:33 PM
Hello,
I'm using anope 1.7 and unreal 3.2 - Until yesterday everything was running fine, when my server crashed. Now I can start unreal with no issues, but the anope services error out.

this is what I get in the debug log -

Code: [Select]

debug: Received: :orion.wastelandwar.com NOTICE AUTH :*** Looking up your hostname...
[Jun 07 10:18:28.773217 2007] debug: Received: :orion.*********.com NOTICE AUTH :*** Couldn't resolve your hostname; using your IP address instead
[Jun 07 10:18:28.790230 2007] debug: Received: ERROR :Server orion.*********.com already exists from orion.*********.com
[Jun 07 10:18:28.790417 2007] debug: Server orion.*********.com already exists from orion.*********.com
[Jun 07 10:18:28.790592 2007] debug: Received: ERROR :Closing Link: [**.***.30.138] (Server Exists)
[Jun 07 10:18:28.790664 2007] debug: Closing Link: [**.***.30.138] (Server Exists)
[Jun 07 10:18:28.790761 2007] debug: Emitting event "shutdown" (1 args)

Now I spent quite a bit of time searching last night and found 4-5 threads with similair issues, One about changing the names and another about the server services are both the same and to change them in the services.conf and unrealircd.conf files.  I have looked at my conf files and nothing has changed, I even uploaded my backup copies to verify they were the same as before the crash to no avail.

Ideas?

thanks
Asylum

Check ServerName in services.conf is NOT the same as the server name in the me{}; block of ANY servers you have on your network.

I Have them running now. Not sure what the issue was, but I broke the link between the two so I got a no link error, then went and fixed that, and they started.. go figure..

jobe, I checked what you suggested and they are different.
