Title: non-expiring SRA nicks
Post by: katsklaw on October 28, 2006, 03:07:13 PM
As a safety feature I'd like to see SRA nicks set to not expire. I think the easiest way is based on the current expire routines by using a well placed is_services_root().

Why not manually add them via /ns saset noexpire? :)

only ircops can register a SRA nick - so even if it expires, your not "at risk" per-say.

Not everyone uses saset ;P

If all ircops were trustworthy as they should be, we wouldn't need features like NSSecureAdmins, NSRestrictGetPass or CSRestrictGetPass now would we? ;P

A lot of the "restrict the privileged" issues boil down to why give them privileges if you dont trust them not to abuse them in the first place but with the SRA nicks personally i think they should be set to noexpire on registering.

You mean the feature http://forum.anope.org/index.php?topic=1663.0 (http://forum.anope.org/index.php?topic=1663.0) that was requested before?

Does the behaviour of the feature differ at all? Just trying to work out the differences.
